This modern Chinese Zichar restaurant was recommended by one of the
foodie youtuber we followed and was mentioned as the best she had in
Singapore, so we decided to give it a try. As the outlet is a bit far away
from my place, we decided to order via Ordereats delivery service.
We ordered quite a few dishes but wanted to highlight some of
them. Perhaps due to delivery, their signature King Tiger Prawns in Singapore-Style Chilli Sauce 新加坡招牌辣椒酱大虎虾
($28.30) did not have the wow factor as many reviews claimed but they still can't go wrong with fried mantou-dipping (4pcs@$2)!
Another one is the Silky Egg Seafood Crispy Hor Fun 滑蛋炸河粉 ($14).
The fried hor fun is actually flat rice noodles fried to a crisp, topped
with pork, prawns, squid and shitake mushrooms in a rich egg sauce. Interesting interpretation but we still prefer the classic horfun.
It was quite jelat after a few bites.
Grandma’s “Te Kah” Bee Hoon 招牌猪脚米粉 ($14.30) is tender braised pork leg wok-fried with vermicelli.
The overall taste was good and at more of the sweet side. Do take note that
the delivery could be a bit off the scheduled time. Would want to try
dine-in next time as they have a lot of special dishes we haven't tried yet.
