Clan 7 七公館: Elevated Chinese cuisine (NTP+/CC14 Lorong Chuan)

Located in the new mall NTP+ right next to MRT Lorong Chuan Station, Clan 7 is a modern Chinese cuisine restaurant ran by young executive chef Dee Chan who previously worked in several hotels in Singapore.

We went for a family dinner by ordering several a la carte dishes.Would definitely recommend the Sichuan-style Cooked Garoupa Fillet 藤椒酸菜龙趸魚 ($38++), a very gentle interpretation of the classic Sichuan soup as it’s only mildly spicy but very tangy.
Smoked Cod Fish Fillet 摩登烟燻鱼 ($29++) is also one dish we like. The fish was damn crispy with hints of smokiness. Can’t tell it’s cod fish though as it's been so deep fried there was barely any meat. Other dishes we had was:
Marinated Jellyfish with Cucumber
Clan 7 Sichuan-style Hot and Sour Soup The bowl was extremely small.
It is more of western pork ribs with chinese sauce.
Sauteed Angus Sliced Beef, Broad Bean Paste
Moutai-Chicken with Distilled Chinese Liquour in Claypot
Sauteed French Beans, Minced Pork, Dried Shrimp
Yang Zhou Fried Rice with BBQ Pork and Shrimp

Overall food is good and would appeal to those who like heavy robust flabors as most of the dishes (except the fried rice) were pretty salty and rich. That said they do go very well with white rice. Would discourage anyone from ordering the beef, moutai chicken, smoked fish, and Iberico pork cutlet at the same time as the flavors are generally overlapping and quite similar. Prices are not too cheap but great for once in a while indulgence!
