FuFu Pot 福福锅: Individual Hotpot Set Lunch Starting from $14

Rainy days call for comfort food, and what could be better than hotpot for lunch! Not only is it warm and filling, but it's also customizable to suit your taste. Finally, I got the chance to try the FuFu Pot weekday set lunches, and it did not disappoint. For just $14, you can choose from nine different soups, five types of veggies, and four meat/seafood options. Of course, some ingredients cost extra, but it's still a great deal. What I love about this set-up is that you get to choose exactly what you want in your hotpot. No more picking out unwanted veggies or meats from a pre-made hotpot!
One pot we tried was the stinky tofu, although it was not stinky at all. It was spicy, somewhat like a mala hotpot, and very filling for one person. If you're looking to add on sides and drinks, it's cheaper to do it as a set lunch than ordering a la carte. I highly recommend trying the Korean big skewer if you like bold sweet and savory flavors. And, the prawn toast maki is also worth getting, as they are deep-fried prawn balls that are simply delicious.
For the other set, I was torn between the white curry and spicy tomato, but ultimately went with the former. Unlike the creamy, milky Japanese-style white curry, this was light and tasted like a mild Southeast Asian curry. It was perfect for dipping the Japanese chashu, which I highly recommend as one of the meat options.
Overall, the customizable individual hotpots at FuFu Pot are a great lunch option. With a variety of options to choose from and affordable prices, it's definitely worth a visit.
